Biography

Dr. Nina Wood-Charles has been called by God to help women to understand the Bible and practice its principles. An experienced Bible teacher, Dr. Wood-Charles can attest to the transformation that comes from being in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ and from studying His Word.

A lover of international travel, Dr. Wood-Charles has lived, studied or worked in The Bahamas, Canada, England, France, Italy, Monte-Carlo, and Switzerland. She has also served as a missionary to Senegal, West Africa.

Dr. Wood-Charles holds a BA in French and Italian from McMaster University, Canada; an MA in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois; a Ph.D. in Folklore with specialization in Ethnomusicology from Indiana University, Indiana. She completed a program in French Studies at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and holds a Certificate in Italian Studies from the Universita per Stranieri in Italy, as well as a Certificate in Wolof Studies from the Baobab Training Center in Senegal. Dr. Wood-Charles has different degrees of fluency and proficiency in nine languages. A former university professor, Dr. Wood-Charles has published scholarly articles in her area of expertise.

Dr. Wood-Charles currently serves at Genesis Christian Center as the Director of Creative Arts and as a pianist. She is married to Dr. H. Nathan Charles who, in addition to being a wonderful husband, is her chief supporter in her ministry.
